Here is the syllabus for a course I am offering this term–the idea is to expose students to basic notions of human rights, not only in the US, but from different locations around the world as well. We look at fundamental violations of human rights that took place in Ferguson, and compare and contrast these to others in different countries. A large part of the course focuses on resistance and solidarity against oppressive state violence.
